Christina Chin, ACSW is a warm, engaged, and collaborative therapist. Her experience spans community mental health and intensive outpatient DBT and EMDR programs, where she has worked with individuals experiencing a wide range of psychiatric concerns.
She believes meaningful change requires active engagement from both therapist and patient. She values honesty, curiosity, and direct communication while helping patients move toward enduring change.
“I enjoy working with young adults and transitional-age youth navigating ADHD, anxiety, depression, PTSD, and the challenges that often accompany major life transitions. I also have a special interest in supporting first-generation individuals as they explore identity, family expectations, and the cultural and generational experiences that have shaped them.
Former patients often tell me that our work together helped them develop greater self-acceptance and self-compassion. They describe feeling deeply seen, understood, and safe in therapy, and appreciate leaving sessions with new insights they can carry into their daily lives.
My therapeutic approach is grounded in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), while incorporating other approaches tailored to each person.
Regardless of technique, I believe the most important quality for therapeutic progress is a human connection, as it provides the foundation of safety to work toward greater self-honesty. I believe every person holds the tools they need within themselves, and my role is to guide you in your exploration.
I am especially passionate about trauma treatment and helping survivors process painful experiences so they can move forward with greater freedom, confidence, and connection.
I wish more people understood that healing is rarely linear. Progress often comes in small, meaningful steps, and setbacks do not erase the growth you've already made.”
